I don’t even need to hear this song to know it sucks. How dare this little piece of manufactured product cover a Cyndi Lauper song. Cyndi = a true original. Faith Hope Cyrus (or whatever her real name is) is nothing but a Disney creation made to bilk hardworking parents out of their hard earned money. What a disgrace.

I bought my daughter this CD at Target and have had to listen to it many times. I’m really surprised by the harsh criticism here!! This is a re-make of the song done by Cyndi Lauper, yes. But Miley Cyrus isn’t Cyndi, and to expect her to sound “the same” is odd and disturbing at the same time. Miley has a different sound and I felt she made the song her own. This is one of my daugters favorite songs on the CD, and I think it’s great that she and I can relate to a song that I grew up with as well. This is a fun and upbeat song. The whole album is well done with appropriate songs for a 15 year old to sing. Cut the kid some slack!!!

She doesn`t do this song JUSTICE, Cyndi`s version is 100% better and still loved after 20 yrs. In twenty yrs we will be asking “Miley who?”

I loved this song growing up and i am sure Miley has no idea what a privilege she has been given to be able to cover this song. I don’t think it is horrible but i agree that it has that Disney quality to it but thats what makes my daughter love her so much. They are trying to redirect the age audience for this song and they are doing well. You have to figure that Cyndi gets royalties for every print of her song and is fully aware and approved this remake.
